Fred Armisen (Saturday Night Live) and Carrie Brownstein (Wild Flag, Sleater Kinney) from IFC’s hit original comedy Portlandia are embarking on a unique limited tour bringing the romanticized and dreamy rendering of Portland, OR to life for fans across the country.

“Portlandia: The Tour” will feature Armisen and Brownstein, the co-creators, writers and stars of Portlandia, performing live music, presenting sneak-peek clips from the show’s second season and sharing personal anecdotes about the creation and inspiration of Portlandia and its variety of eccentric characters.

Brownstein will return to the Trocadero in downtown Philadelphia less than two months after the show as WXPN Welcomes Wild Flag Tuesday, April 3. Tickets are on sale now for Wild Flag at the Trocadero.

The Milkmen Cometh :: Cover Story :: Philadelphia City Paper

The Milkmen Cometh

“We’re big Dead Milkmen fans here at City Paper — the punk rock legends provided the soundtrack to our awkward adolescence. And we’re big fans of their frontman, Rodney Anonymous, too. Rodney cracks us up with his monthly Aid or Invade column (it’s supposedly about world music), but we’ve been looking for an excuse to really turn him loose. When we heard that the Milkmen were officially back in the picture — playing shows, making new music — and blowing it out with a big Halloween bash at the Troc, we gave him a word count and set him free.”

The Dead Milkmen play here on Saturday, Halloween night!
